GeoVic - Explore Victoria Online

The Earth Resources web mapping application allows users to search our geospatial databases and display the results as maps or tables.

Service Update - 04/10/2012.

Solar Atlas Release. (GeoVic 3 only)
The Atlas is viewable by opening the application and using the solar atlas theme.
We advise all new users to spend some time looking at the on-line help (especially the video tutorials) before using the system in earnest.

GeoVic 3 was released in April 2011. (optimised for Firefox and will work in Internet Explorer 8+)
Training Tutorial Videos and extensive help documentation can be found within the "Help" located at the bottom left of the screen.
Feedback and issues should be directed to erd_info@dsdbi.vic.gov.au.

The system includes Ecological Vegetation Class (EVC) Group Layers. It does not yet include the "Mine Subsidence Analysis" function. This will be included in the future.

About Explore Victoria Online

Datasets that can be viewed and interrogated include mineral, petroleum and extractive industries tenements, land-use and airborne geophysical survey boundaries, gravity, magnetic and radiometric images, borehole & well data, surface geochemistry results, mines and mineral occurrences, and geological maps and interpretations at various scales.

This application will eventually provide our clients with on-line access to all Earth Resources services and databases to help them carry out their business.
